The Dominican Republic is preparing to host the annual carnival, which is scheduled for March 6th. Preparations for the enchanting celebration are in full swing, and tourists looking forward to a great show rush to book tickets in hotels.
As it became known, the start of the parade will take place at 14 o'clock local time, and the Malecon embankment in Santo Domingo was chosen as the starting point. According to tradition, several troupes take part in the annual celebration, representing certain regions of the Republic. Real battles flare up between the participants for the right to be called the most colorful and dance group of the holiday.
This year will be no exception. According to the Dominican Republic Tourism Office, the carnival is expected to be massive and colorful, so a considerable influx of tourists is expected. And although this show is officially organized to cheer up local residents, it is difficult to argue that tourists arriving in the country during this period are the most welcome guests here. Vivid impressions and new emotions are provided to every witness of the amazingly beautiful carnival.
The Dominican Carnival differs from other similar events in several ways. For example, the main theme of the holiday is chosen annually, within the framework of which the participants of the enchanting procession must put their numbers. So, this year, the carnival will be dedicated to local customs and traditions, as well as concern for their preservation.
The central persons of the holiday, as usual, will be the king and queen of the carnival, who will be elected in advance. Well, all other participants will have to fight for valuable prizes. Only those teams that can come up with the most unusual corteges and create unique images can count on victory.
At the same time, a children's carnival is scheduled for March 5 in the capital of the Republic. The event will start at 10 o'clock local time, and colorful groups will begin their march from the capital square. Considering that the popularity of festivals among tourists is quite high, it is recommended to book hotels in advance.
