In a small Russian town with a population of only 40 thousand people, more than fifteen museums have been opened. This fact surprises all his guests. The oldest museum "Peter the Great's Boat" was created in 1803, and the youngest museum collection was opened in 2014. To prevent the guests from getting lost, at the entrance to the city from the side of the capital, a traffic indicator was specially installed for all the museums of Pereslavl-Zalessky.
Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve
Museum entrance
This is the largest city museum, created almost a century ago. Thanks to the efforts of the famous historian M.I. Smirnov, it was possible to preserve many works of art and ancient church relics, which the Soviet government seized from noble estates and temples.

The museum is located on the territory of the Goritsky Monastery. And due to the fact that this monastery was recently returned to the Orthodox Church and is now actively being restored, it is likely that other premises will be found for the museum collection.
